Karen was great! She worked with my schedule to get me in to work on my prosthesis.

I lost my left eye to glaucoma when I was 9 years of age. After many years that eye had become smaller, and had developed a lot of calcium build up which caused me a great deal of miscomfort.I was prepared to have my eye removed and have a complete artificial eye implanted. My eye doctor referred me to Mr. Hadlock at Eye Concern. He was able to create a prosthetic eye that fit right over my natural eye. My eye had been deformed for so many years that I didn’t even think about it. When I looked in the mirror and saw my new eye for the first time, I couldn’t help but cry, and I do not cry easily. There was absolutely no pain involved in the whole process, and to this day I am not even aware that it is there except when my allergies flare up. It is so perfect that no one even knows it is there unless I tell them.

I would like to express my appreciation for the fine work that you do. I have been happy and extremely comfortable with the prosthesis, and many friends and family have commented on how well it looks. I am amazed that the eye moves with my other eye, the lid blinks as the other does, and really no one can tell the difference, and cannot even guess which is the prosthetic eye. Again I am thrilled with the quality of work that you do, and just wanted to let you know. I will see you in November for a follow-up polishing.

I just want to tell you of my satisfaction with the prosthetic eye I received from Eye Concern. I have had the “eye” for just over 2 years, and have been nothing but happy with it. No one I have come into contact with has been able to tell that it is prosthetic unless I tell them, and then they don’t always believe me. It looks so real, (it even “tracks” with my other eye) that most people can’t tell my eyes apart. The people in my doctors office, who know because it is in my file, still stop me to look at it, because they can’t believe it is a prosthetic. An the fact that it was painted by hand is even more miraculous. A wonderful job folks.

John is a true artist! I wish I had known him when I needed my first prosthesis. John and the whole crew were great, friendly, organized and made you feel comfortable. I like the fact it is a “”family”” business. John has a true talent! Thank you all for everything.

John did a scleral shell for me a few years ago. It was a masterful job. The fit is very comfortable and the match to the other eye superb. It is so good that after it was done, family and friends would look at me and say “”Which eye is it?””. They understand both the science and the art involved in doing an ocular prosthesis. I would recommend them without reservation.

John is a master craftsman!

John worked long and hard on my new “”eye!”” Spending 3 hours with him as he painted and painted the prosthesis to perfection was amazing. He has incredible talent and patience in doing the fine and difficult workmanship needed for a perfect finished piece. Most people are unable to tell which eye is which! And most of all, I feel as though I have my original (and once healthy) eye back. There is a sparkle in my eye again. Thanks to John and his whole staff at Eye Concern!

The front desk – helpful. I was promptly addressed when I arrived in the office and whenever I called. John, the Ocularist – concerned for my comfort in the placement of the shell when filling the wax mold. Each time a lubricant/numbing agent was used. I appreciated that touch! I am innately curious and John answered and entertained all of my questions as if they were the first time he’s heard them.
